Estimate false LOCALIZATION rates for phosphos with these easy tricks!

 


You guys and your error estimation stuff...who cares where the phosphorylation ends up on that peptide! Oh. Wait. Nevermind. The people in my hallway really really seem to care, but estimating error sounds super annoying and probably involves R or some other miserable thing...

This group shows that it doesn't need to be difficult! 


They allow phosphorylation localization to occur on amino acids where it probably doesn't (probably important to check your organism, Eyers lab has found phosporylations on all sorts of dumb places you wouldn't expect) and uses the appearance of those impossible phosphorylation sites to estimate localization failures.
