Biggest ASMS for hardware launches in a long time? Ever? Maybe!

If you're registered for ASMS you can now dig through the hardware posts.

Chris just posted what he's already got through digging through the ASMS app

I know of at least 2 things that didn't make his initial list. Probably he knows about them but ran out of characters to post them.

I think there is some chance that 2025 is the year that we started thinking about 100 Hz high resolution scans as kinda fast and there is a decent chance we stop thinking of PCR as the most sensitive technique. Disclaimer - I haven't done PCR personally in a really long time.

And as funny as it is to think that Agilent's launch is a single quad - I'd actually really like to have a simple inexpensive and not crippled single quad around.

  1. Waters and Mobilion may have something. Waters has a lot of noise about their own slims/twims system in abstracts. Mobilion has been exceptionally loud on social media.

Please show quant for mobilion in your oral session if possible!! Numbers are starting to arrive for stick length and basic robustness but I’m not seeing compelling data to accuracy. I’m not sure if the integration is 2d or 3d either… volumetric integration of a slims peak seems challenging since they’re not always Gaussian in a real experiment. Have the same critique for lower res timstof IM but maybe slims is easier.

It would be really interesting to study peak splitting by isomerization in slims data and impact on quan. Synthetic peptide with single residue isomer on backbone to induce ccs modification. Should force informatics to differentiate the two ideally.
