Do you need really good proteomics (including single cell proteomics?)

I don't just write about proteomics. I'm also a tenure track investigator with my own research program in single cell proteomics. (www.orsburnlab.org) and I'm constantly seeking collaborators.

I'm also affiliated with the amazing Pitt Health Sciences Mass Spectrometry Core. I'm surrounded by professional mass spectometrists with amazing instrumentation and - far more importantly - decades of experience in operating these instruments. Having these people around was a major draw for me leaving my hometown. Also, walking into the high resolution room is pretty amazing. You can't capture all the hardware in the room in a single picture, or even on the old website link above. There's tons of cool stuff in the next room.

The MSC is open to internal and external researchers with a tiered cost structure that can be found here. If you have your own bioinformatics team to interpret the results you're only looking at $150/hour for instrument time for external studies with heavy discounts from that for internal researchers.

If you are looking for really good proteomics data delivered by a team of professionals you can find information on submitting projects here

As of late 2025, the MSC offers Single Cell Proteomics as a core service using either label free proteomics for high depth data with low complexity data analysis, as well as high throughput multiplexed proteomics which is a bit harder on the informatics side but can deliver 10-20x more single cells per day.
